Privacy Policy

What we collect
CarSpecta collects only the minimum data needed to help you find a car:
- Filter preferences — the criteria you set (budget, fuel type, use case, etc.) are sent to our scoring API to rank vehicles. These are not stored permanently.
- Approximate location — we detect your zip code from your IP address to show nearby dealer listings. We do not store your IP address.
- Dealer inquiry forms — if you submit a dealer inquiry, the information you provide (name, email, phone) is forwarded to the relevant dealership and stored for inquiry tracking.
What we do not collect
- We do not require account creation or sign-up.
- We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party tracking.
- We do not sell or share your data with data brokers.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use CarSpecta. GA4 collects anonymized usage data including:
- Pages viewed and time spent on site
- Filter selections and search queries (e.g., what vehicle criteria you set)
- Clicks on vehicle cards, dealer listings, and buying guides
- General device and browser information
This data helps us improve the experience. It is not used for advertising and is not linked to any personal identity. Google's privacy policy applies to GA4 data processing.
Third-party services
Listings data is sourced from multiple inventory providers. When you click "View Listing," you leave CarSpecta and are subject to that dealer's or platform's privacy policy.
